Mata-baalak ni bhalai no sanedo!

Sanedo, a cherished Gujarati folk genre, is a staple of Navratri celebrations, loved for its energetic beats and peppy lyrics. Recognizing its popularity, the Project Vruddhi team, an initiative by Action Against Hunger, has adapted this folk-art form to share important messages about nutrition and health. We have woven essential information on anemia, nutrition, and hand hygiene, creating a sanedo that is both entertaining and educational. By merging culture with health and nutrition education, we aim to engage communities and support the well-being of mothers and children.

SBC Videos on Anemia, Nutrition and Hand Hygiene (Gujarati)

Project Vruddhi, an initiative by Action Against Hunger, created ten 1-minute videos using an infotainment approach. These media pieces are designed to educate on various aspects of the first 1,000 days model, with a focus on raising awareness about anemia, breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and hand hygiene as part of the Social and Behavior Change (SBC) package. The package, titled "Jaagta Rehjo," carries the tagline "ane bija ne pan jagadjo," which translates to "stay aware and spread awareness among others." The main characters, 'Ranglo' and 'Rangli,' are inspired by the traditional Gujarati folk art form 'Bhavai.' By blending this folk messaging with modern filmmaking techniques, including regional dance styles like 'sanedo' and 'timli,' the campaign ensures greater relevance and acceptance among government staff and local communities in Gujarat. These media pieces are designed to be catchy, concise, and entertaining. Through this campaign, our goal is to amplify awareness so that people Know more, and Share more!
